Winners and principal winners of the 35th BALI National Landscape
Awards, run in association with Horticulture Week, were announced at
London's Grosvenor House on Friday.
Awards ranged from domestic gardens to massive regeneration schemes,
as well as best international project, roof garden and interior
landscapes. Headline sponsor was Rigby Taylor.
The Grand Award – celebrating the best of the best entries – went to
the Landscape Group for Broadway in Salford Quays, Manchester. The
scheme’s creation involved floating 40 barges laden with Chinese stone
along the Manchester Canal.
Principal and special award winners announced on Friday in front of more than 700 leaders of the landscape industry included:

Indonesia hasil aransemen musik angklung akan bergema di Jordania.
Tepatnya dalam ajang Indonesia Product & Cultural (IPC) Expo 2011
Aman- Yordania yang akan dihelat 13 – 16 Juli 2011.
Musisi Saung
Angklung Udjo (SAU) Yayan Mulyana Udjo menjelaskan, karya kesenian
angklung yang akan dipersembahkan di Yordania adalah konser mini
angklung dengan 12 lagu.
"Konser mini ini akan membawakan 12 lagu
yang terdiri dari lagu Indonesia dan daerah," jelas Yayan, yang juga
putra keenam almarhum Udjo Ngalagena, pendiri SAU, melalui keterangan
tertulisnya, Senin (11/7/2011).
Duabelas lagu Indonesia yang akan
dibawakan itu antara lain Indonesia Tanah Airku, Medley Nusantara,
Bengawan Solo, Manuk Dadali.
SAU juga membawakan lagu barat, di
antaranya lagu Simfony, Donno Wallen, The Girl from Ipanema, dan
lainnya. "Lagu-lagu Arab juga dibawakan di antaranya lagu berjudul
Habibi, Mongtani, Al Hajar, dan lagu Ischmir," sebutnya.
Yayan
menjanjikan, pihaknya akan menyuguhkan konser unik dengan
mempersembahkan permainan angklung toel (sentuh). Angklung ini merupakan
hasil inovasi SAU atau penemuan Yayan sendiri. "Memainkannya dengan
cukup disentuh di bagian ujung angklung. Angklungnya sendiri dopisisikan
terbalik, tidak seperti cara memainkan angklung seperti biasanya,"
jelasnya.
Dalam misi budaya di Jordania ini, SAU memberangkatkan
14 orang yang terdiri dari tujuh musisi, empat pemusik, dan tiga
perwakilan manajemen SAU. "Keberangkatan ini sebagai upaya
mempertahankan dan mengenalkan musik angklung sebagai warisan budaya
dunia," pungkas Yayan yang juga sebagai Ketua Kontingen Tim SAU di
Jordania.
